Reach & Read: Missile Toe A Very Confused Christmas

Missile Toe A Very Confused Christmas by Devin Scillian, illustrated by Marty Kelley

missile_toe_book_reviewThis book had me chuckling all the way through! It is punny, clever and a great edition to our Christmas/holiday book selection. It brings back memories of singing alternative versus to classics as a tween.Devin Scillian has created a collection of poems, playing on classic Christmas carols.  Feel free to enjoy year round though, as it is not exclusively Christmas. My tiny reader is a little young to catch the puns, but he certainly enjoyed the stories and illustrations.

Some examples titles …. “Wild Shepards Washed Their Flocks by Night”, “Angels We Half Heard on High” and “Johnny Oats Ate Nicholas” — Johnny Oats is a dog, Nicholas is a guppy, by the way. Definitely add this book to your collection!

I received a copy of this book to review from Sleeping Bear Press but I was not financially compensated, nor required to say something positive, in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my experience and observations while reading this book.
